I tried your Regedit method and sound now works properly when running Chrome in a sandbox.
Thank you for your time an effort fixing this problem. Very Happy

That's strange that adding the Everyone permission fixes the problem, because as I said, version 3.51.04 specifically addresses this particular scenario.

In any case, adding the permission cannot be a long term solution, because you will lose the Everyone permission whenever you delete the sandbox.

I'll try to tweak this change that I did a bit more and see if I can make it work better.

I looked into this again and noticed I had Google Chrome version 8. Which surprised me because I'm not even sure the new Chrome Flash is there in version 8. But as I said earlier I did definitely encounter this problem. So I'm a little confused. Anyway, when I upgraded to Chrome 9, I had the audio problem again, and the fix from version 3.51.04 did not make any difference. So I fixed it some other way now and I hope you will see this resolved in version 3.51.05.

3.51.05 fixed the problem with no sound in flash videos

regular flash videos are now playing fine with sound. But a new problem has come about. Trying to play flash videos that are drmed of some sort will not load.

Trying to watch video from sites like hulu.com or there respective channel sites (fox.com, nbc.com, etc etc) will not load, no video or sound. The sandboxed chrome browser will chug cpu to 100% for a few secs then nothing.

Playing videos from those sites in a non sandboxed chrome browser everythign works fine.

Chrome Dev 9.0.597.10
Sandboxie 3.51.05 (64-bit)

I did not try hulu but on nbc.com I saw a problem where video playback starts with Downloading Files and then gets hung up on Loading Player Configuration or some such. Is this the problem that you are reporting? In that case I am happy to say it would be resolved in the next beta build.

Even on the nbc.com website?
Can you give me some links that don't work for you?
Please give more than one as I probably won't be able to view some of them.

google chrome dev just got updated to 9.0.597.16 so testing using that with sandboxie ver 3.51.06(64-bit).

nbc.com, fox.com, abc.com now work

hulu.com still doesn't, fails to load video

thewb.com , loads the beginning ads then fails to load main video

southparkstudios.com, fails to load video

gonna try to look for more sites, but those are the main ones i use mostly that i deem more popular that other users might visit as well

Thanks guest100 and bepresent1701, I could reproduce the video playback issues on my end, and fix them. I hope this will also fix the same problem for you. I'll probably release another beta build tomorrow.
