3.49.10, and all previous versions-
Sandboxie was installed in "Run as Administrator" (Is this correct?).
WLM is added in Email Reader.
I auto-delete Contents on closing.

If I create a WLM Contact (or any other file/folder change doesn't take/ Auto-Compact on closing corrupts WLM/Repair!), and then try to send them an email- It bounces as Invalid Domain (not!)?

I the close all sandboxes, and restart WLM un-sandboxed-
The new Contacts/Folders..., aren't there?
I then re-create them, & can then send them email in sandboxie.

Q?- Is this limited read-only on purpose, so that sandboxed malware can,t write directly to disk... (email saves OK)? Question

I don't know what to say about the bounce issue.

But as for the contacts, I just recently -- in version 3.49.08 -- enhanced the Windows Live Mail compatibility settings to include the Windows Live Contacts folder:

%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows Live Contacts
%Local AppData%\Microsoft\Windows Live Contacts

Can you check if these are the right folders?

E.g. if you enter these lines into the Windows Explorer file/path location bar, does it take you to a folder where you can see your contacts?

I copy/ pasted both into the Search bar (Must Show Hidden), but Not Found.

If I enter Windows Live Contacts, into Search- it came up with this location-

C:\Users\Scott\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Contacts

Hope this helps, as it corrupted my WLM!-
ALL folder contents disappeared after I did a Repair, and tried to delete/create a fresh Account.
I had an ABC WLM backup, but it was a week old- I lost all my business email for the last week (searched everywhere!?)!
I will create a fresh backup First, next time...!

BTW?- Should I be installing sandboxie in "Run as Administrator" in Win 7? MANY programs don't install fully..., unless I do this?

I don't really know what to tell you about the corruption, either...

But "C:\Users\Scott\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Contacts"
and "%Local AppData%\Microsoft\Windows Live Contacts"

should be the same folder. So I don't understand that either.

What happens when you type just

%Local AppData%

into the Windows Explorer location bar?

Sandboxie needs admin privileges to install but you should not have to do "Run as administrator" manually. Don't you see UAC elevation prompts, when you install stuff without "Run as"?

Win 7 is weird on root level installations!-
If I install regular "Run As", they don't fully install (keep getting prompted for Key Codes..., and don't work well?), and 3d party defrags/firewalls/AV's/... don't work properly either! I also always Temp disable my AV for installs.
If I then uninstall/reinstall in "Run As Administrator", they work Good!? "Run As Administrator" appears to have more Rights...!

Wait a minute. Are you sure you're not typing this into the Search box? I think you are.

There's an area in the new Windows Explorer where you have breadcrumbs. Something like

C > Users > Scott > AppData > Local > Microsoft > Windows Live Contacts

Now if you click the mouse just past the breadcrumbs I think it turns into an editable path box:

C:\Users\Scott\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Contacts

And this is where you should paste %Local AppData% .

Thats correct. If you click a blank space on the address bar, or whatever its called, it turns into an editbox.

Anyways, I have a question, though a bit off topic.
Is %Local AppData% for Win7 or for earlier Windows?

The reason I ask is because typing %Local AppData% into my Explorer address bar does not work, instead it just fires up my default browser (Firefox) and inserts %Local AppData% into the address bar which causes Google.com to load and show results for %Local AppData%.

%AppData% works fine though...

SnD, I think the "Local AppData" shell folder variable should be there on all Windows. But using the Windows XP Explorer, I also get the same behavior with the web browser opening. Perhaps the space between the two words is causing Explorer to send this to the web browser.

So on second thought, I'm not sure how to easily determine Local AppData without using the registry.

Ahh that was it, can't believe I didn't think of that the first time.

The correct variable is %LocalAppData% without the space, that one works fine. Very Happy

Right, that seems to be an improvement in Windows 7 that you can enter %LocalAppData% (no space). In Windows XP, that doesn't seem to work.

Are you typing/pasting into the Search box at the top right corner of the Windows Explorer window?
That's not where you should be entering this stuff.

Bro, you don't post it in the search box, it has to go in the address bar.
