After being asked by my bank to install "rapport" for extra safety when banking online, I've found out that trying to access my bank page in a sandbox just keeps crashing my firefox (latest version).
http://www.trusteer.com/solution I can't seem to find the download link now, but I got it from visiting rbs.co.uk and selecting log in. |

Well I use a version above that, what am I supposed to do? Rapport runs constantly there's no on/off, can you not add compatibility?

Thanks, but it's more the fact that it's constantly running, actually, doing any form of browsing now in sandboxie causes constant crashes. The only solutions I've found is removing rapport or sandboxing Opera since it's not supported. I'm not sure where to go from here.

I see. Well, here is a workaround. Go to Sandbox Settings > Applications > Local, click Create New, then paste:
After you click OK, you will be able to add "Trusteer Rapport Workaround" to your sandbox settings. Then click OK again to close Sandbox Settings, and delete your sandbox. What this setting will do is, every time the sandbox is empty (i.e. after it's been deleted), it will "prepare" or customize the sandbox, by deleting files related to Trusteer Rapport. This will effectively disable the Trusteer component within the Web browser, and should stop the crashes. Note that the Trusteer Rapport files are only deleted inside the sandbox, so will not interfere when you run the browser outside Sandboxie and do want to use Trusteer Rapport. If you're interested, you can read more about AutoExec here: http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?AutoExec And like I said, at a later time I will revisit this issue to see if there might be a better solution than this workaround. |

I installed Sandboxie yesterday and Firefox crashed each time I tried to run it. I checked here and was delighted to find that there was a workaround for the Trusteer Rapport problem. I applied the fix as described above but unfortunately Fx continues to crash almost immediately after I open it.
I really like Sandboxie and am hoping that you'll find another fix that'll work for me. I'm running XP Pro SP3 with Outpost firewall, WinPatrol Plus (permissions given to Sandboxie) and Avast Home Edition as my AV. |

Did you delete the sandbox after introducing this workaround?

Yes, I did delete the sandbox.

In that case invoke Run Windows Explorer under Sandboxie,
and navigate to the C:\Program Files\Trusteer Rapport\bin folder, and tell me please, which files do you see? |

I don't think the newest version will make a difference about this particular problem. Although it is a recommended update nonetheless.
As for your file list, the files rookscom.dll and rooksbas.dll are still there. I'm assuming you did do this using a sandboxed Windows Explorer. Which means the problem is not, that the workaround has been applied and still the problem remains. Rather, the problem is that the workaround has not been applied at all, or at least, not applied correctly. Please go to Configure menu > Edit Configuration, copy the entire contents of your Sandboxie.ini, and paste them here. |

OK Tzuk, I've uninstalled the last release and re-installed the newest Beta and introduced the workaround with the same result--Fx crashes immediately. Here is the contents of the .ini file. Thanks for the help, I really like your program.

Also, I checked once again with a sandboxed Windows Explorer and those two files noted above are still in the bin sub-directory. |
