Firewall interfering - but how to fix the issue?

Hi all Smile

Whenever I try to run a program sandboxed, I get the following errors:

SBIE2312: Could not execute SandboxieRpcSs.exe (5)
SBIE2204: Cannot start sandboxed service RpcSs (0)

I've narrowed it down to my firewall - Sunbelt Personal Firewall.

I really like my firewall and I'd hate to uninstall it - but I just cannot seem to find any 'magic switch' that allows Sandboxie to succesfully run.

I am now asking the community for help - does ANYONE have ANY experience with SPF4 + Sandboxie - and does anyone know how I can resolve my issues without uninstalling my firewall?

Greetings,
Odd dude

No problems if you disable the firewall?
Was there a firewall allow/block message regarding Sandboxie? ...choose 'Allow'.

Disabling the firewall solves all issues. There is no allow/block question whatsoever. Which is why I was hoping anyone has experienced this problem and found a workaround for it Smile

OK, I'll try it myself and see what happens. But it will take me a while to get to it.

I tried with beta version 3.31 and also the official 3.30 and in both cases I was not able to reproduce the problem.

Maybe it is a firewall configuration issue after all, i.e., you somehow got the firewall to dislike SandboxieRpcSs.exe. However in version 3.31, I was able to tweak SandboxieRpcSs to not use any network services at all, perhaps that can improve things for you.
