I'd like to add that I discovered that the entire computer freezes when I close the last sandboxed program, not just firefox.

Do you have the sandbox set to autodelete when the last sandbox closes?
It's possible there might be so much junk in the registry, that it takes Sandboxie a while to dump the whole box, thus freezing your PC? Tell me, if you leave the PC alone while it's frozen, does it eventually unfreeze? |

It turns out it does unfreez after a while, 5-10 minutes. However, I don't believe I have it set to auto delete anything.

Could be a conflict with another security software, do you use any?

The only software I use is sophos antivirus, and the windows firewall. I don't thing there would be a problem with either of them.

There is the possibility that your anti-virus is examining each file in the sandbox as it is deleted, generating a lot of computer activity that is preventing you from doing anything else while the sandbox is deleted.

Just disabled sophos, and yep the sandbox closed perfectly, now I just have to figure out what is going on. Correct me if I'm wrong but the sandbox isn't being deleted every time I close if it remembers passwords ect, right? So what happens when I close the last program in the sandbox?

| Freezing when terminating programs |

Sandboxie likes to freeze when I terminate the programs it is holding. I mean, more than just Sandboxie freezing, my entire machine. Hard. Even on the new beta version this happens. I start it up, load a browser in it, browse for a bit, and then shut the sandbox down. Entire machine locks up pretty nicely. My cursor still moves until I click two or three times and then it's down for the count, I even walked away for 5-10 minutes to come back to it not having progressed at all. This has happened to me on 2/2 machines, the only thing in common with them is that they both use Sophos antivirus and Altiris.
I'm at a school, the machines are on two seperate domains, I'm a local machine admin on both of them. The accounts used for the testing were different and only allowed authentication for the domain the computer was attached to. Event log is quite unhelpful, but this much is shown:
Then I use it, and the next recorded event log is my machine rebooting:
I did a bit of searching, but no one seemed to have similar problems. I'm going to try it on an unmolested machine as soon as I get permission from my instructor. I'll report back soon. |

It was entirely Sophos' fault. I completely disabled it and it works great. Still kind of puzzling why it would lock everything completely, though.
