...the plot thickens, I tried running it again a few times just there and now each time the window starts at "Please wait 4 more seconds" and stays at that--I wonder if it's counting down really slowly? Thank you, Kind regards, Eliott |

OK. I found that it isn't a slow timer, but the number of times I open the sandbox; for every ~7 times I started the sandbox, the timer dropped by one second. When it finally reached zero my program started in the sandbox, but it also complained that SbieSvc.exe wasn't running. I'm not if that was actually my problem as the sandbox runs fine now (so I won't be able to see if this problem is still around until tomorrow when I will "please wait" once more...) If it doesn't work tomorrow I'll post again, but otherwise, I'll presume this was my problem. Thank you, Kind regards, Eliott |

OK. So it still doesn't work. Timer is frozen. For now, I'm just going to write a script to create 50 instances of Start.exe and then kill them, which seems to be a good enough workaround for me, but if anyone has any ideas how to correct this issue[?] that would be better.
Thank you, Kind regards, Eliott. |

When it's not working, check again to see if the service was not started, as per the message you received before.
Start > Run > services.msc > OK Sandboxie Service > Started > Automatic Certainly, the service has to be running, and the service loads the Sandboxie driver into memory. |

I'm afraid I don't have any idea why something like this might happen. You can try to use Process Explorer to look at the Start.exe process while it is stuck. Use Ctrl+D to show DLLs within Start.exe in the lower pane of Process Explorer. Check if you have any DLLs that are not from either Microsoft or Sandboxie.
