I'm pleased to announce that Version 3.69.01 adds a new feature to arrange sandboxes into groups, and select the order in which sandboxes appear in the group. The new feature is available through the Sandbox menu.

Corresponding setting in the [UserSettings] section:

BoxDisplayOrder=Box1,Box2,Group1(Box11,Box12),Group2(Box21,Box22,Group3(Box31,Box32),Box23),Box3

Nice feature.

Could I just ask if you could enhance it a bit, if possible? It would be nice that, when we create a new sanbox, we could set under which group it should go to; and, even create a new group from there as well. This way, when creating a new sandbox, we wouldn't have to go to "Set Layout and Groups". We could do it all from "Create New Sandbox".

I hope I'm being clear enough! Smile

Sorry I've been gone for a while now but I just wanted to swing in again and thank you for all your hard work! Very Happy
Over the last 6 months I've seen many changes and features added to Sandboxie, even some stuff that had been requested for a while finally made it in!
Faster start menu, grouping installed programs together in the start menu, write-only feature, middle clicking sandboxed programs in the Windows 7 taskbar works, User Accounts feature, as well as a few other things I'm forgetting, and now this feature! Very Happy

Just wanted to say keep up the good work, and I'm still here, I just haven't been able to post as often as I used to, at least for now. Razz

Thanks guys, I'm glad you like the new feature.
Thank you for your suggestion, cruzer, I think I can do that.

And thank you SnD for compiling this attractive list of features.
Sure looks like I got some stuff done recently. Smile
I'm glad to see you're keeping up with Sandboxie even if you can't post.
And I'm glad to see you!

I set up my sandboxes into groups using the new feature Smile see attached Groups screenshot, however, when I went to do an update to one of the programs in the sandbox in this case Chromium it throws up an error see attached Error screenshot!

Did I do something wrong when I setup the Groups...I am missing something?

Groups Error

Edit: Just thought I should mention that if I use the "Restore Default Layout" feature and then try to update the program it works normally!

You didn't do anything wrong monami, that's a bug. I see when I put DefaultBox into a group, and then click OK without changing the selection at all. So you might be able to work around the problem in your case by moving the selection. In any case this should be fixed in the next beta build.

I didn't have that many sandboxes before; I started using Sandboxie recently. But, look at Monami screen shots, I went ahead and created new sandboxes for the web browsers, etc, and grouped them.

In Sandboxie Control's main user interface, the actual sandboxes are displayed normally, not grouped. This may sound like a stupid question, but is it suppose to be like that, or should the sandboxes also be grouped there? If this is the way you designed it, would it be possible to have the actual sandboxes in Sandboxie Control's user interface also grouped? It would be the cherry on top of the cake, so to speak. Smile

The grouping is only displayed in menus, but the Sandboxie Control window does maintain the correct order which was selected within the groups.
I don't plan to change this at this time.

pity and a bit annoying - thats what i hope to see cause i use >10 boxes for several purposes and its growing. grouping in main windows should be possible - sometime in near future please.

btw it can be also
BoxDisplayOrder=Test(box1,box2),Browser(Firefox,Chrome),Apps(Java,Games)
groups can have names!

I'm sorry, but I see little point in groups if sandboxes do not show grouped in the main control window, nor are grouped under 'send to' in the Windows right-click menu; although I can presumably correct the latter manually.
