What's up with the hostility? I'm trying to help solve the issue here which would help all of us. Under the Terms and Conditions the IT departments of companies are allowed to use SandboxIE for testing. |

Just upgraded to the latest version of SandboxIE and my Chrome issues persist unfortunately.
I didn't see anything relevant in the patch notes though so I guess it shouldn't be a surprise. Have any of you had any luck getting SandboxIE running again? |

And are you really evaluating Sandboxie for deployment in your company? It's important that we clarify this, lest it appear that I tacitly approve disregarding licensing terms when convenient. |

We have had several malware and virus scares in the last few years as I'm sure most companies have had. One of the things that I use at home and that makes me feel safer when browsing is Sandboxie. To answer your question: Yes, I am busy evaluating it on our network and making sure that it performs in the same fashion as it does at home. However this doesn't necessary mean that it will be installed on every machine, even if I wanted to do that. IT deployments take time, and the user needs to be ready for the change. Heck most of them are still using IE to my dismay. However next time we get a scare like the ones above and my boss asks me what we can do to prevent something like this in the future, I would like to be able to tell him that I have faith in this app, that I use it at home, and that I've tested it on our local network. Now that the niceties are out of the way, can we get back to the issue perhaps? |

Alright, in this case I have to say this. I appreciate that you like Sandboxie, but what you're describing is not evaluation. It seems to me like just typical ongoing use by someone who happens to be in the IT department. There are exceptions in licensing to allow a personal license holder to use Sandboxie on a work computer, but you say you don't have a personal license, so those may not apply. I'm sorry, if this is to remain the case with respect your licensing, then I have to ask that you remove Sandboxie from your computer at work.

Very well, I will remove it. It hasn't been working for the last month anyway, and it doesn't looks like any interest is being given to the problem. Let me remind you that I wasn't the first person to report the issue. Multiple others reported the issue and I simply kept the thread alive. Edit: Allow me to re-iterate that at no point did I mention how long I had been evaluating Sandboxie. My only guess is that when I mentioned malware attacks at the office in years, that you assumed that I had been evaluating it for years. Which would be incorrect. However this whole saga has provided me with valuable insight, and I don't believe that we want to put our faith into an application that has been broken for almost a month and the developer is more interested in licensing than about fixing the problem that has been reported by multiple users. |

I just want to note that today I upgraded to Sandboxie 3.74 and the problem with Google Chrome is still there.
It seems I can only open Chrome once sandboxed. If I close it and then re-open, I get the light blue blank browser. I then must Delete Contents of the sandbox before Chrome will work again. |

I get this problem quite often. i an use Chrome with Sandboxie quite often, but then sometimes I open Chrome and that's it, no ability to communicate with the internet.
I have found how to correct it however, at least on my system. When Chrome stops working: Delete Chrome Sandboxie contents. Remove Chrome preset from Sandboxie Start Chrome WITHOUT Sandboxie. This is the important one. If you just create another Sandboxie profile for Chrome and run it, it is still non-functional. You con't have to browse anywhere, just start Chrome and terminate it. Final step, create a Chrome sandbox and it works again until it decides to stop whenever. I actually think it is Chrome doing something otherwise why do I have to start it without Sandboxie to get it working again? Just my opinion though. |

What is the Chrome present in Sandboxie that you remove? Just the setting that has Chrome forced to always run under Sandboxie, or is it any other settings?

Hi,
I wanted to add my 2c to ensure that it's known that this problem exists for others. I found that Chrome started breaking in Sandboxie quite a long time ago (perhaps v3.60'ish) and generally have found that it's related to Chrome wanting to upgrade itself and that a delete of the sandbox contents fixes it most of the time. I'm currently on v3.74. I have everything ticked in the Chrome section of Sandbox Settings -> Applications -> Web Browser -> Google Chrome, and I have [chrome.exe] as a forced program for that sandbox. Today I found that I was unable to view a pdf in Chrome more than once before it locked up and I had to delete the sandbox contents again. This time the fix was to delete the contents and start Chrome outside of the sandbox, even though Chrome was already on the latest version (22.0.1229.94 m). Unfortunately I don't have a great deal of detail to offer, but if I learn anything substantial I'll bring it back to the forum. Cheers, Mark |

Hi,
still having this problem, too. Some times it's gone for a while. Then it reappears and stays for some weeks. Very strange. Regards Exo |

Hi all...
I installed Sandboxie today, i.e. latest version, and when the latest version of Google Chrome is my default web browser and I click the Sandboxie Default Web Browser link on my desktop, Libre Office word processor starts. When I change my default web browser to the latest versions of IE, Firefox, or Opera, the Sandboxie Default Web browser link on my desktop works perfectly. I also wanted to give a heads up on a non-working link in the "Help & FAQ" page of Sandboxie at the bottom of that page which reads:
Following the sandboxie link, you get:
Just wanted to give that head's up and thank you for Sandboxie! Note I"m using Windows 7 x64, so the other link to an XP "fix" wouldn't work for me to fix the default browser issue |

If you run Chrome (unsandboxed) and use:
Customize and Control button > Settings > Default Browser "Make Google Chrome my default browser" does it remember that setting if you close Chrome and then run it (unsandboxed) again? As far as I know, that's the same as using (just one time): Start > Run > navigate to and select "chrome.exe" in C:\Users\(user)\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe and then put one space followed by --make-default-browser at the end of the line in the Run box. The end of the line in the Run box will look like: ....\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --make-default-browser OK |
