Please note that Sandboxie is set up for occasional use only.
Next not using the Avira firewall but using sygate pro as a firewall. Thanks |

Thanks for the update report, the address SbieDrv.sys+19272 tells me this happens during initialization of Sandboxie, likely the result of some software conflict/incompatibility.
I think that if this was a common problem with Avira, then we would see more bug reports about it. Perhaps a mix of software that may or may not involve Avira. Aside from Avira and Sygate Pro, do you use any other security software? |

I think that if this was a common problem with Avira, then we would see more bug reports about it. Maybe! when a page fault happens the computer reboots and a minidump is created. Most people would have no idea what is happening. Hardware software etc. This problem now occurs only when sandboxie is initialized. Sandboxie is set up for occasional use only. Before that it wold reboot on start up. |

I didn't mean to say the problem can't be in Avira, I only meant to say that in my opinion, it is likely that Avira is not the problem.
Would you consider temporarily uninstalling Avira to see if it makes the crash go away? Please note that disabling security software usually doesn't make a difference in such a scenario, you would have to do a full uninstall. |

Uninstalled Avira for 3 days.
No BSOD with Sandboxie. Reinstalled avira and then got ================================================== Dump File : Mini060812-01.dmp Crash Time : 6/8/2012 2:32:14 AM Bug Check String : PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA Bug Check Code : 0x10000050 Parameter 1 : 0xf7be2000 Parameter 2 : 0x00000000 Parameter 3 : 0x80506de1 Parameter 4 : 0x00000000 Caused By Driver : SbieDrv.sys Caused By Address : SbieDrv.sys+19272 File Description : Product Name : Company : File Version : Processor : 32-bit Crash Address : ntoskrnl.exe+2fde1 Stack Address 1 : SbieDrv.sys+a0c6 Stack Address 2 : SbieDrv.sys+af2e Stack Address 3 : SbieDrv.sys+1314 Computer Name : Full Path : C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini060812-01.dmp Processors Count : 1 Major Version : 15 Minor Version : 2600 Dump File Size : 90,112 ================================================== |

Thank you for taking the time to test this. I will try Avira 10 on Windows XP and let you know what I find out.

I'm sorry but I could not get these crashes on Windows XP with both Avira and Sandboxie installed.
I used the trial version of Avira Internet Security. I'm not sure what else I can say about this, perhaps to trigger the conflict I need Sandboxie and Avira and one more program that we haven't identified yet. |

since installing 3.68 the crashes happpen every 7 or 8 days
did not receive a bsod since the last post my computer is shut down every day and this happen when a program is sandboxed One thing noticed was that when paltalk is installed sandboxed sygate has to to be set to allow all to install properly unlike the older version of sandboxie when avira was installed it was a custom install no proactive no email and no firewall. avira was installed for fast boot . Perhaps sygate may be involved to find the problem is hard considering the many factors involved running xpsp2 since this is a amd processor and installing xpsp3 was not to my liking. if you want a copy of sygate that can be done by email. Thanks for your help. |

Hi, I've been using Sandboxie for quite a while, and now I've this problem too, blue screen of death with Page Fault in NonPaged Area Error.
I've Windows XP sp3 with Avira 12 Free and Outpost Firewall Free 6.5 installed. Sandboxie is updated at the latest version. The dump file says that the blue screen is probably caused by SbieDrv.sys. I get the blue screen message while booting the pc, before Windows reaches the desktop, but it doesn't happen every time. I've had this problem first when I reinstalled windows from scratch in May (Sandboxie 3.68 ), I thought it was a windows problem since I had no issue until that point with Sandboxie installed too, even if the crash dump was saying it was caused by Sandboxie driver. So I reinstalled Windows again and I've had no problems until now. The screen showed up again on these last days, four or five times. I've the same security setting on another pc and I've never had any problem, so I'm not sure the problem is related to Avira or Outpost. I didn't install anything else these days, except Windows, Flash and Java updates. |
