If you're up for some experimentation, you can get WinSpy and look at the window classes for the iexplore.exe process:
http://catch22.net/software/winspy Then you can add the class names that you see to the Window Access setting (OpenWinClass) and check when it has an effect, then work backwards to find the minimum (or hopefully, just one) window class that needs special treatment. I'm afraid I cant be more helpful than this as I don't have the hardware in question. |

I finished testing. That is a pretty good program and its nice it works inside sandboxes too.
I found that my Internet Explorer(64-bit) requires the resource name "IEFrame" to work correctly. For Firefox(which I have installed inside a sandbox), I had to add the resource name "LogiSmoothScrlBckGrndWnd". I might note that two other non-generic classes were packaged are the same window: "LOGI_DEVICE_LISTENER" and "WindowClass_d3dlogismooth" which although not directly required for smooth scrolling sound like they may be important to some other features that I haven't tried yet. Do you believe it is safe to add these to my non-testing-only sandboxes? |

I'm glad you're asking about safety/security because the next step is to change OpenWinClass settings to NoRenameWinClass settings in your Sandboxie.ini file, and check if things still work.
For example, OpenWinClass=IEFrame (for example) change that instead to, NoRenameWinClass=IEFrame (for example) NoRenameWinClass is similar to OpenWinClass in some respects. But unlike OpenWinClass, it isn't an access rule and doesn't give the program in the sandbox any additional permissions. * * * I can make a software compatibility template with your findings, but I would need to know more details. So far you've just said "Logitech Scroll App", can you elaborate a bit? Thanks. |

I'd like to report that changing the fields to "NoRenameWinClass=LogiSmoothScrlBckGrndWnd" and "NoRenameWinClass=IEFrame" worked for both Firefox and IE .
Logitech Scroll App link is here - http://www.logitech.com/en-us/428/7244?softwareid=8541&osid=14§ion=downloads The app is a download for my Logitech G700 Gaming Mouse(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsfXyWHJxF8) and I believe it is used for other Logitech mice as well, particularly their G-series gaming mice. It adds an extension in both Firefox and IE that enables you to scroll in increments of less than 1 line per tick. This is useful because the mouse has a free rolling middle mouse button that allows you to make precision much less than 1 line scrolls. Its mostly just a nice effect although still helpful for ppl like me who are impatient and like to scroll while reading and don't like the words choppily clipping up in "clicks" as we scroll. |

My mistake. Correction:
NoRenameWinClass=IEFrame works perfectly, however NoRenameWinClass=LogiSmoothScrlBckGrndWnd DOES NOT WORK. Firefox smooth scrolling only works with OpenWinClass. Sorry for the confusion. I must've forgot to reload. Didn't notice til I tried plugging it into my main box. |

Thanks! I'll add new software compatibility settings according to your findings.
