SBIE1408 Unknown user name for SID S-1-5-21-436374069-261478967-839522115-2122

As you can see, TSid did not list a user with a SID that ends with -2122. The question is why? Is your user account defined on the local machine, or somewhere else?

If you type "net user" in a command prompt window, do you see your user account listed?

If I'm not mistaken, my user account is defined on the domain where I work.
"net user" gave these results:

User accounts for \\TSIB1102

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Administrator Guest HelpAssistant
SQLDebugger SUPPORT_388945a0 VUSR_TSIB1102
The command completed successfully.

Well, this explains it. The problem is that your account is not defined locally. I'll have to think about this for a bit.

Keep in mind, this is a console program, and should be used in a command prompt window.

The funny thing is that 2.85 is the first version that has given me this problem.
I've used SBIE for quite a long time (on this computer and on this domain) and have never seen these messages before.

EDIT: I don't know if this will prove helpful in solving the problem, but I've just shut down the SBIE tray app (Sandboxie Control?) and the error messages no longer appear.
sbiesvc.exe is still running, and running firefox from the start menu appears to run sandboxed - but without the error messages.

The account I use is a domain admin account, defined on the domain, but is also local admin. It's NOT among those written above by TSid.

Those popup error windows keep popping up till I shut down "control.exe" from the task manager.

Like ervin, I'd never had this kind of problem (or any sort, apart some slowliness in the latest versions) before I started using v2.85

Many thanx for your supoort! Smile

No such errors any more, this update has solved the problem. Smile

Oliver

P.S.: But I have still this Sanboxie problem. My work around solution is to restart sbiedrv with sbiedrv.cmd (net start sbiedrv) everytime Sandboxie couldn't be started. And I don't know why. I type my password to log on, press Enter and the system hangs, rebooting, log on again, restart sbiedrv with sbiedrv.cmd).

Sure, and thanks.

Perhaps you're using some other program that is causing Sandboxie to hang. Try finding which one, if any.

I just wanted to say that I'm new to the Sandboxie and I'm giving it a good test. I had installed it at home and it worked perfectly... When I came to my office I had all the issues as stated in this thread.

I wanted to make note that (in my office) I am on a Win XP SP2 machine, hosted in a domain where my account is and there is no local copy of my name. I have rights to install anything but do not have a local account. I installed the updated 2854 and it seems to have FINALLY suppressed the all the SBIE 1408 messages. If any more issues I will post my results.

Thanks Tzuk for the update.

Hello tzuk, hello everybody,

I have the same problem alert with my Sandboxie 2.85, but when I tried the download link for the bugfix I received a "page not found". Dear Tzuk, could you please provide a new link? Thanks in advance Smile

Kind Regards,
Netgrrl

The fix was superseded by version 2.86. You should downloaded that newer version from the Download page. (See navigation bar at top of page.)
