Could it be that in your cases, your user name is the same as your machine name?

Why, yes, it is.

I could test this on Windows 2000, which (unlike XP) allows new accounts with the same name as the computer.

Got same results with USE=3.

Here's an updated SbieSvc for use with version 2.85:

http://www.sandboxie.com/SbieSvc.exe

To replace it, first stop the SbieSvc service (that would be "net stop sbiesvc" from a command prompt).

Then restart the service ("net start sbiesvc") or your computer.

Both answers are Yes:
1) the machine is named as the user on it;
2) this update has fixed the issue for me.

Thank you!

Thank you. Sorry I created the mess in the first place. Embarassed

Now I just would like to hear from Hank52 that it solves the problem for him as well, because he seems to have a slightly different variation than anyone else. (No USE=3 for him, as far as I remember.)

I also have the machine name the same as username. The fix has been applied and I now have 2.85 up and running without any problem.

Thanks, tzuk

I've now updated the installer package for version 2.85 (32-bit) to include this fix.

Thanks tzuk. Sorry I'm so late getting back to you. Lousy Work Hours.

I decided to try another Install of the Program a few minutes ago with a new Download of the Installer, just in case the other one was Corrupted, and it Installed just fine??

Then I came back here and read you're Post about the Updated Installer. Well, I guess that explains why it Installed OK.

Code:

As JSladek Said:

His Set-up is similar to mine, although there are some differences I can't figure out.

Thanks for all your hard work on a great Program. I'm going to have to put some $$$ in the Mail for all your efforts.

Thanks again for all your help.

Hi ronen.

I'm still having the same problem unfortunately, even with the updated 2.85.
2.84 didn't have this problem at all.

Please post the results of running

http://www.sandboxie.com/TSid.exe

Keep in mind, this is a console program, and should be used in a command prompt window.

As you can see, TSid did not list a user with a SID that ends with -2122. The question is why? Is your user account defined on the local machine, or somewhere else?

If you type "net user" in a command prompt window, do you see your user account listed?
