Are you sure it stops indexing? Perhaps just not updating the status of the indexing?
Last time I addressed the issue, I got indexing to work, but could not get the status update to work, as I noted here: http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=41051#41051 |

Thanks for your swift answer Tzuk. I double checked and I'm getting the following message when I want to do a search: "Search results may be incomplete because items are still being indexed. Click here for more results.". When I click there I get a window saying Outlook is currently indexing my items and how many messages to go. When I reopen Outlook unsandboxed it spends some time indexing. After that is complete, I do not get the message anymore when doing a search and I'm able to find all the emails I'm searching for.
To be precise, I can see that when searching within the sandboxed Outlook that the latest bunch of emails are not taken in consideration but that in contrast they are indexed and searchable when opening Outlook outside the sandbox. |

I see. Can you check in Sandbox Settings > Resource Access > COM Access that you do in fact have -
{7D096C5F-AC08-4F1F-BEB7-5C22C517CE39} - it should be added by the Office Outlook template. |

I checked and I've got two items there and they are both part of the Outlook template:
{7D096C5F-AC08-4F1F-BEB7-5C22C517CE39} {9E175B6D-F52A-11D8-B9A5-505054503030} |

I installed Office 2007 on my 64-bit Windows 7 system, and I believe I have an idea why this problem occurs.
What happens is you have the Window Search outside the sandbox, and Outlook running in the sandbox. In order to facilitate communication between these two components, Sandboxie starts a new SbieSvc.exe process that will carry the communication back and forth. Now the problem seems to be that Outlook is a 32-bit process and the SbieSvc "facilitator" is a 64-bit process, and this difference is messing up the communication. I want to add a 32-bit "facilitator" but something else in the design of Sandboxie is making this difficult at this time. So I'm going to fix this but because it's not a straightforward change, I'm going to leave this to the next version. For now, you should be able to work around this problem by selecting the checkbox in Sandbox Settings > Accessibility. This does take away some protection but a lot of other protections will still be in place, so I think it is a reasonable compromise, and it will be a temporary one. |

Thanks for trying to find a workable solution. For now I've created a specific sandbox for Outlook and the workaround solves the issue. I look forward to the next version. |

Good. I have this topic on my to-do list so it won't get lost. I'll post an update in some weeks, hopefully by then I will be working on beta builds for the next version.

Sorry that I'm a bit late in reporting back but the problem with Outlook 2007 indexing has been resolved with one of the latest beta's and now works fine with the new version 3.52. Thanks very much Tzuk!
