Same Problem: Sandboxie Prompting for Activation on Restart

Same problem as before, except in tzuk's haste to remove all reference to discussions on activation my OP got deleted. I originally thought that the problem was fixed, but on the second and third restart Sandboxie is still prompting for activation.

What are my options (other than rolling back to 3.46 and staying there)?

Well from what I remember of the thread, we figured out that it might be due to Sandboxie's sensitivity to some hardware changes in your laptop, in your case, the fact that your laptop could switch between different video cards.
So unless you've stopped switching video cards, or used another PC/Laptop, then its not surprising that you're still having this problem.

But if you're wondering if tzuk has made (or will make) Sandboxie less sensitive since your original thread, then no he hasn't.
If this is still a problem for you, I'd really just recommend sticking with the v3.46 build of Sandboxie, cause as for right now, there isn't really anything else you can do otherwise...

blaq, I think last time, you said the result of

License.exe print syscode

was the same after every restart. Is this still the case?

Hi,

After I reimaged the system the result was different, but now after each reboot the code still stays the same. Note, I've only done 3 reboots so far, but each time sandboxie has prompted me to reactivate.

Alright. This means the re-activation is not occurring because your system code is changing. Because your system code is not changing.

How about the time and date in your computer? Is it the "real" time of the world?

are you not running some system restoration tool like 'deep freeze' that reverts changes back after reboot?

Thanks for your replies.

tzuk: The code only changed once, and now it stays static between reboots. For some reason it changed once between reimaging (although sandboxie was not reinstalled).

Mark: No, no system restoration tools etc. I rely on Sandboxie to protect my computer from unwanted stuff.

You still need to answer tzuk's question, above:
Computer time and date information.

Sorry I missed out that bit. Yes, it's set to real world time and it's not being reset after each reboot.

I'm having a problem with the new activation method too. I activated the software and the license.exe asked to go out to the net which I allowed and it seemed like everything was good - until I rebooted.

It's asking me also to activate and when I attempt to, it says:
Product activation failed:
Invalid response from the License Server.

I just rebuilt my hard drive so what's worse... since I attempted to register (from a clean install), it killed the free fully functional 30-day trial and I can only run 1 sandbox at the moment. Any Suggestions?

Using Win7 64B.

tzuk: Whenever I re-image or re-build the drive, I ALWAYS forget to backup Sandboxie.ini file and have to rebuild it. Is there a reg tweak that I could use to point to another location and then move the ini file to that location?

I'm thinking, ideally, since most people probably have their sandboxes on a separate partition or hard drive, it would be great if the ini file could be with them and that way, you don't ever have to worry about backing it up. Is this possible?

So what happened with this problem?

Was it resolved? If so, how?

blaq said he would try to make absolutely sure his system uses just one graphic card,
and then give it a week or two and see if any reactivations are done.
