Hi,

I'm having problems adding bookmarks to Linkman Pro from sandboxed Opera browser.

I'm trying to add bookmark via configured hotkey but the hotkey doesn't do anything.

Everything works just fine when running Opera without sandbox.

SandboxIE - 3.45.07

Opera - 10.54

Linkman - 7.9.0.56

Linkman site - http://www.outertech.com/index.php?_charisma_page=product&id=5

XP Pro SP3 32

Any clues please?

Cheers,

OB

Yes, I am aware of this problem:

That's one of the last few issues I plan to look at before finalizing the next version of Sandboxie, so I hope I will have a solution very soon.

Thanks, tzuk, I'll keep my eyes open for updates. Cool

Try this please. Go to Sandbox Settings > Applications > Local, click Create New and paste:

Code:
[Template_Linkman]
Tmpl.Title=Linkman
Tmpl.Class=Desktop
Tmpl.Url=http://www.outertech.com/index.php?_charisma_page=product&id=5
Tmpl.Scan=i
OpenIpcPath=*\BaseNamedObjects*\Linkman*
openWinClass=TLinkmanF

Click OK and this should add a new setting called Linkman. Then click Add on Linkman to activate this new setting.

Then restart Opera under Sandboxie and check if it makes any difference.

Tzuk,

The hotkey grabs the code you provided, and adds that to the Linkman database, rather than adding the URL.

I've tried it three times, just to make sure I'd made no mistakes, and the end result is the same each time.

I'm sorry, I have no idea what you mean. I tried the Linkman icon in the browser, that worked fine. What's the hotkey?

Tzuk,

There is no Linkman icon in Opera browser.

With Opera, you can only add URLs to Linkman via configured hotkey (Linkman: Tools > Settings > Global Hotkeys > Add URL from browser) or, where configured, by clicking Linkman systray icon ((Linkman: Tools > Settings > Tray Icon > Add URL from browser).

With Opera running sandboxed, configured hotkey adds the code you quoted to the Linkman database.

With Opera running sandboxed, clicking Linkman systray icon does nothing at all.

That doesn't make sense. Maybe it adds the contents of the clipboard, which happens to be the code I quoted above, because you copied it into the clipboard?

But I do see now that Linkman can't extract the URL from a sandboxed Opera.

Tzuk,

Yep, confirmed, it does indeed add whatever is held on clipboard.

Sorry for the confusion. Embarassed

I get a slightly different behavior on Windows 7. When I press the hotkey, the Linkman window disappears, and nothing is added. That is with a sandboxed Opera, of course.

Try this revised code instead:

Code:
[Template_Linkman]
Tmpl.Title=Linkman
Tmpl.Class=Desktop
Tmpl.Url=http://www.outertech.com/index.php?_charisma_page=product&id=5
Tmpl.Scan=i
OpenIpcPath=*\BaseNamedObjects*\Linkman*
OpenWinClass=TLinkmanF
OpenWinClass=opera.exe,op*
OpenWinClass=opera.exe,DDEMLAnsiClient

Use the "Create New" button, as before. It won't ask any questions, but will overwrite the old code.

It's a pity Opera doesn't have a way of setting a hotkey for capturing URL to clipboard 'cos, if it had, a double hotkey would have solved the problem.

Well done, pal, that one hit the spot! Cool

Adding via hotkey and systray icon now both work perfectly.

Thanks, Tzuk, very much appreciated.
