i have bitdefender total security and whenever i start a program in sandboxie with the antivirus feature active the program crashes and a WerFault.exe process is created in sandboxie and sometimes theres an error popup. however, if i disable the antivirus features, launch any program sandboxed (like notepad) and re-enable antivirus and just leave notepad minimised i can launch any sandboxed programs i want. antivirus just has to be disabled when sandboxie starts sandboxierpss.exe and sandboxiedcomlaunch.exe. Not too big of an issue since i can just leave notepad running minimised while im sandboxing things but its a bit of an annoyance all the same.

I am looking at the BitDefender web site and I see Home Security Bit Defender 2010 Free Trial. Do you think I should be able to reproduce your problem with this particular software?

Hello,
I got a crash running sandboxie 3.44 and 3.45 on windows 7 64bit when running the sandboxie's start.exe
i was able to trace it to bitdefender's active virus control shield (an extra measure from bitdefender to look for viral behaviour from running processes).
when i added sandboxie as an excluded program the problem was gone.
just wanted to tell you all,so as if someone else has this problem it would help him.
cheers tzuk, you amazed me i never thought you would support 64 bit again! Wink
just posted a more adequate bypass

hi,
i just posted that you needn't disable entirely the antivirus just add start.exe to the excluded processes in bitdefender resident shield advanced menu.
and tzuk you can recreate the bug with bitdefender 2010 internet security trial suite

You can reinstall BitDefender (uninstall it before) and you can try more anti-virus software from here http://www.trustdownload.com/ if you have the same problem after reinstal.

I can reproduce the conflict with BitDefender using version 3.442 of Sandboxie, but version 3.45.18 works fine. So this problem seems resolved.

Antivirus software usually adds a right-click command to Windows Explorer to scan files for viruses. In version 3.45.19, I've added exclusions to support this command for various antivirus software. Unfortunately, I was unable to do this for BitDefender.
