Hi,

I get this error on trying to install arcView within a sandbox.



If I run it outside sandboxie I don't get this error. I tried running the installer from sandboxed explorer and "Run any program", but I get the same error.

I'm running XP SP3. The microsoft fix talks about searching the registry and removing the invalid character, but the string doesn't seem to have any funny characters. It doesn't make sense its a registry problem because it works if I don't run it within sandboxie.

Does anyone have any ideas what I can try?

I saw your email but I have not yet had a chance to respond. Thanks for posting it here as well.

I'd like to try to install this software myself and see if I can reproduce the problem. If I can then it might be some problem in Sandboxie that isn't related to your particular system.

Is this something that I can download and install?

I'm am currently trying to install version 4.7 of blackberry's desktop manager software (free to download and install) and each time i try, i get similar error.

'Error 1324. The path My Documents contains an invalid character."

Is there anything that I could add as far as OpenPipePath or OpenFilePath etc. goes that would prevent this problem?

Also important to note that, just like scenglish, this install proceeds without a problem if it is not run in a sandbox.

I tried this now, did not see any problem, so perhaps this problem was already resolved since it was reported earlier this year.
