So a couple of things. This past weekend I went back many versions of Sb. I'm sure I was back far enough that this problem was not occurring but the problem still occurred. This leads me to believe this started with newer Ff versions, not newer Sb versions. The other thing of note is this is occurs on XP Home SP3 with a Pentium 4 processor. On an inexpensive Vista laptop with a low end AMD Dual Core processor the delay is not noticeable. Not sure that is because of better performance or Vista. Both pcs are set up about the same including Ff extensions with one difference in anti-viruses, Desktop NOD32, laptop Avira Free.

I use XP Pro on a Pentium 4, if that has anything to do with it. I've tried using Windows Debugger (in a different thread), but the only clue I've ever gotten was from using Process Monitor. It appeared to me that it was related to Firefox (or Windows) checking the Sandboxie Registry key, for the presence of CLSID items. I last posted a comment about the problem in the 3.35 beta version of the forum: http://sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=4986&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=69 |

Interesting.. On my desktop, my AMD 64 4000+ handles the Firefox/Sandboxie loadup really quick... You wouldn't even notice Sandboxie is loading with the browser.. But on my laptop, it's a sad story.. initial loading of Firefox with Sandboxie.... about 25 seconds with this low-end Thinkpad, Core2 Duo. After that initial loading, they will reload in about 5 seconds. Both are running XP Pro with SP3. I've noticed the slowing over the versions with the laptop.. but the AMD has been relatively unaffected by it. |

On the right track! New session complete at just over 20 seconds. That is down from 26. I use a stop watch and can tell when the secondary freeze ends because the cursor returns in the search field so this is not just a guess. |

I'm glad that it helped you, ratchet. It doesn't seem to help me though

I see some improvement .. about 6-7 seconds lopped off my initial startup. Unlike Ratchet or Guest10, I've never had any freezing issues. Thanks for your efforts. |

Good to hear this change does make some performance improvements.

Back using 3.36.04. The 3.37 beta versions caused Internet Explorer browser (IE 8 ) to stall on opening and the only way to shut down iexplore.exe is via Task Manager or via Sandboxie "Terminate Program". This does not always occur, but happens frequently. Using Windows XP SP3, 32-bit. |

You got a tough job, fella. Many users are piling security apps on security apps.. inviting conflict by running way too many resident programs. We have a half a dozen browsers, half a dozen operating systems... plugins, betas, extensions, helper apps, poorly designed software and users with unique setups that sometimes don't have a clue as to what might be causing their issues... and you're expected to fix it.. I don't know how you find the patience.. |

I see this as part of the challenge to create good and reliable software.

Due to the good feedback about the recent performance fixes (over 20% according to one report),
I've decided to move the topic to the "Beta Version 3.37" forum and consider it resolved. At least for now. |
