If you load IE8 normally, you'll see 2 IE instances in Task Manager, so yes it's normal.

Each time after a new system bootup and running sandboxie.
First time to use "open Start menu in sandboxie", explorer.exe will crash with ntdll.dll.
I'm using XP SP3, which version of explorer is 5512. And I'm using SimpChinese version of sandboxie. Test on 3.35.20 and above. Unknow for early versions.

nijiko, do you mean the real Windows Explorer crashes because you did something in Sandboxie?

Yes. After 3.35.20, when I first time to run "open Start Menu in sandboxie", the real explorer.exe will crash with ntdll.dll. First Time means after each time reboot the system.

Problem with trayicons:
After run a app. in sandboxie, the trayicons of app. will remain in real system.
Check in trayicons history, they're there.

After upgrading from 3.35.21 to 3.35.22 (on Vista), executing a forced program triggers the following SBIE Messages:

SBIE2313 Could not execute SandboxieRpcSs.exe (5)

SBIE2204 Cannot start sandboxed service RpcSs (0)

I first noticed this with my forced opera.exe and later duplicated the messages by adding and executing notepad.exe as a forced program.

Anyone found a workaround for the SBIE1223 on win7 already?

[edit]

I just noticed you, tzuk, weren't planning on developing for win7 until RC is released?

This build, 7068, is said to be the future RC, also it's prety stable.

I don't know how much work it is to resolve this issue, but i would be very pleased if you could, on college im forced to install certain spyware before i get network access, im not installing that 'normaly' on my system ofcourse Smile
And i would like to access the network.

I don't get this error on Vista. The error code (5) there is typically caused by over-protective HIPS software that don't allow some program A to launch some other program B. In the past neither Opera nor Notepad needed SandboxieRpcSs so your HIPS software is probably configured to not allow that. That is if I guess right and a HIPS software is in fact involved. Then you need to get your HIPS software to "forget" everything and go into "learning" mode again so it can ask you about the relationships between programs rather than block access automatically.

I haven't looked into this problem. But hopefully it is a small one, due to some internal changes between build 7000 and whatever came later, 7068 in this case. The thing is that Sandboxie differentiates by major/minor operating system versions rather than build numbers, so I fix this for build 7068 then it will mess up things for build 7000. In any case I don't want to keep revising Sandboxie against a moving target so I prefer to wait for an official RC.

Thanks for the reply tzuk. I could not replicate the error messages this evening on my two Vista desktops. Only my Vista laptop is affected. All three systems have identical simple security setups: Malware Defender (HIPS) + Software Restriction Policies. I will dig deeper into why the Vista laptop is the exception.

Tzuk, is this a very basic problem? or is could it maybe be solved with a simple workaround?
that would be sufficient for me aswell for the time being.

street011, would you consider going back to build 7000 until Microsoft release the official Release Candidate?

from what i've read my release had a lot of changes, i also test my os for a while before i install it.

Im not sure what changes are made in my build exactly but i prefer to stick with this version, i don't feel like testing it all over again but if thats what it takes...

workaround would be nicer if you ask me xD
I'd even take it at the risk of security to a certain degree, im not using this machine for testing dangerous stuff anyway.

Thanks, wraithdu. I didn't want to start IE8 outside of a sandbox incase I did have a problem with malware masquerading as an instance of IE.
