Thanks for the post, my sandbox is based on RamDisk currently so it's regularly erased.

According to xchat.org, XChat 2.8.5e was released on December 11th. Perhaps "all of a sudden" for you is when you upgraded 2.8.5c -> 2.8.5e? Try going back to the previous version of XChat. |

This problem will be fixed in the next beta version, 3.35.21, which will be released later today or tomorrow.
