Unknown_User_995: http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=13547#13547 Wed Oct 03, 2007 3:57 pm http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=13547#13547 Thanks for the help. I found out what the problem was. Silly mistake; had the directory set as C:\Download\ instead of C:\Download[u:46509c8a07]s[/u:46509c8a07]\ which is my proper directory name You can apply the settings under [Global settings] so the rule will apply for all the boxes which is what I was aiming for. Once again thank you for your assistance. OpenFilePath=... ----- Yes, you are right: Gpl.exe would be used: OpenFilePath=gpl.exe,*.queue Or, you can specify the path to that file: OpenFilePath=gpl.exe,(whatever the path is)\gpl.queue ---- Unknown_User_995: http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=13541#13541 Wed Oct 03, 2007 12:35 pm http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=13541#13541 I entered OpenFilePath=orbitdm.exe,C:\Download\ under the [GlobalSettings] section but the files aren t getting saved in the real directory. Did I do something wrong? As for GLP, why you have you associated orbit with the queue list? GPL.exe executes and saves GPL.queue in its own directory. It has nothing to do with OrbitDownloader unless you send the queue list to OrbitDownloader. What I want is for GLP is to save the queue list in it's real directory so wouldn't I need to have GLP.exe rather than Orbitdm.exe in the code. Please correct me if I am wrong. Paul_K: http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=13525#13525 Tue Oct 02, 2007 1:47 pm http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=13525#13525 For the OpenFilePath statement, you need to know a couple of things: If the Orbit Downloader runs as an .exe program, you need to know the name of that .exe. ( In the examples below, orbit.exe[/color:b5550743ac] is used ). Then, if the Downloader will be saving all of the files to the same directory, you need to know the path for that directory. If you will be saving the pictures to your My Documents or My Pictures folder, this configuration setting lets orbit save to My Documents, and to any sub-folder under My Documents - such as My Pictures: OpenFilePath=orbit.exe[/color:b5550743ac],%Personal% ---- For an example using C:\Download as the download folder, the statement would be: OpenFilePath=orbit.exe[/color:b5550743ac],C:\Download\ I believe that the final backslash character (\) is needed in the above line. ---- For the .queue list, since I have no idea of what the path is to the GPL directory, you could just use: OpenFilePath=orbit.exe[/color:b5550743ac],*.queue Or, you can specify the path to that file: OpenFilePath=orbit.exe[/color:b5550743ac],(whatever the path is)\gpl.queue ---- Unknown_User_995: http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=13519#13519 Mon Oct 01, 2007 10:17 pm http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=13519#13519 Hi tzuk, I looked at the OpenFilePath page. I don't seem to quite understand it. I'd appreciate your assistance. Although I'll rarely be using GetPictureList inside SandBoxie, but with GLP you're able to create a queue list then save it to a file (GPL.queue) located in the GPL directory. I ask; is it possible to share the same (real) queue list? Btw, if you're wondering where the FireFox extension for GLP is, it can be found in its installed directory. tzuk: http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=13514#13514 Mon Oct 01, 2007 9:03 pm http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=13514#13514 I'll check out the performance problems with GetPicturesList. But it's not going to be possible to "unsandbox" certain programs like you ask. For your last problem, you can have your sandboxed Orbit and unsandboxed Orbit share the same (real) download folder, by using the OpenFilePath setting. Write back if you need help getting that done. When in use I have have the option to send it to my download manager Orbit Downloader . Both of these open up in Sandboxie. It's a hassle when GPL's speed is reduced so much and also that I want to be downloading the files onto my hard drive not SandBoxie SnDPhoenix: http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=13503#13503 Mon Oct 01, 2007 1:56 am http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=13503#13503 It would help if we knew what particular third-party application you're referring to. Also, I'm not entirely sure you could really change this behavior since the idea behind sandboxie is that when you sandbox something, everything it does, reads, writes, creates, open, etc.. is done in the sandbox as well. Why you might ask? It is because this third-party application runs much slower in SandBoxie, and often freezes up so I end up having to terminated this third-party application. Not to mention after it does what it has to do, it needs to launch another application which is also in SandBoxie which also I do not want in SandBoxie
