if a script hangs dont look in firefox - somethings blocking it. maybe you should deactivate google talk. flash-exe twice - read --> https://blogs.adobe.com/asset/2012/06/inside-flash-player-protected-mode-for-firefox.html :idea: plugin-container twice -> java and flash :idea: (one container for each plug - since firefox 3.6) btw not only real extension also flashgot extension - and i guess some more download manager extension/plugins may fail with new flash. try new firefox 13.0.2

I've been having problems with flash version 11.3.300.262 since I updated to it. I see it come up on in the Control window as FlashPlayerPlugin_11_3_300_262.exe. it comes up twice. [img:a7523b1452]http://i.imgur.com/jRSVI.png[/img:a7523b1452] and whenever there's something on a page with scripting, it causes firefox to hang. I'm on version 13.0. It hangs on 13.0.1 as well (or the latest one). I downgraded to 13.0 to see if it will do the same thing. It does. So, the problem is with the latest version of flash for me. Also, everything works fine outside of the sandbox. Eric

Tzuk, I keep my Sandboxie boarder on all the time. Not the option to hover & see it. Sorry that I didn't state that earlier. The boarder doesn't dissappear on just any site,it has to be a flash video site,and you can basically tell that the Adobe plugs for the site are being loaded when this happens. There is no flash plugins to see in Sandboxie until you click on a flash site, when they load the boarder will dissappear until clicked again. Adobe & Firefox should fix their end of the problem also. I surf in Sandboxie always, I don't need or want their sandboxed plugin but I know others may need it. Thanks.

harlan101, the yellow border has two modes, one where it appears all the time, the other in which it only appears if your mouse is hovering on the title area of the window. Please check if this might be the reason for the disappearing border. Those of you still experiencing issues with Flash, can you post some links to videos that are causing problems? If some of these problems are specific to some of the videos, that might help me troubleshoot. Of course if it happens on all videos on all sites then it's not necessary to post specific links.

Youtube and other flash sites still working properly after the new Sandboxie version on x64 but the first time that you click on a web site that has flash the Sandboxie boarder will disappear until you click the page again,however, I've ran both IE & Firefox unsandboxed & it seems that when you access a flash site that the actual page itself will momentarily pause and the page around the tabs area at the top will lighten until you click it again. It seems it's doing this when it loades the Adobe flash. Back to running in Sandboxie now,the first time that you access a flash site it will do whats mentioned above but once you've accsessed that flash site it won't do it again until you have restarted your browser. It's only when it's LOADING Adobe flash plugins to the best of my knowledge.

I do apologise, on my laptop the videos are fine, on my desktop, the videos stall, stutter and eventually froze the browser ( but run ok un-sandboxed ) . Both systems are windows 7 , 64 bit, firefox 13, S.B 3.71.01. That is strange

Tzuk, I can reproduce the audio issue for flash player videos in windows 7 x64 with firefox 13 sandboxed. I don't have any audio problem on the real system (firefox not-sandboxed = no audio problem). I tried 3.71.01 (64-bit) but it didn't fix my problem (with protection mode enabled). Disabling protection mode in flash player 11.3 solves the audio issue in firefox sandboxed, but that's not a big deal so I keep it enabled until you've a new fix.

I don't see CPU use going "sky high" as you claimed in the first post. I can see an increase in CPU use by about 10-20% but I don't feel it's as drastic as you say. The reason is the Flash player is constantly accessing files throughout the playback, which is weird, but it happens both inside and outside the sandbox. The problem is that file access in the sandbox is a bit slower because Sandboxie has to check the sandbox folder every time. Perhaps a future update to Flash will fix that.

But I did see the audio problem with Firefox 14 + Flash 11.3.300.257 which is fixed by version 3.71.01. I now have sound when running firefox 13 sandboxed having installed 32-371-01exe as above. Previously the only issue I personally had with the new flashplayer version was that I couldn't get sound when running firefox sandboxed, however I could get when running FF non-sandboxed. I didn't have any of the error messages, crashes or stuttering that other folks have reported elsewhere on the net. I'm not sure if I followed the correct procedure when I installed it because at the end I got the following error message which I have I copied and pasted from the sandboxie control panel: "SBIE1102 Sandboxie driver (SbieDrv) unloading." Once I closed the error window the exclamation mark in the taskbar icon went away, and I am currently using firefox sandboxed to write this comment. The procedure I used was to uninstall sandboxie 3.70 via the control panel - choosing the option to keep the .ini file with my existing setttings. I rebooted as requested at the end of the wizard. Then I ran the 32-371-01 as an administrator and chose to overwrite the existing installation (as the other option said it would remove my settings). Can you tell me if this was an OK method, or does the above error mean my sandboxie won't function as it should currently? If there is anything I need to do please let me know. If it helps I'm using Vista HP 32bit with service pack 2, avast!7 free version, Malwarebyte PRO, FF13.0 Thanks again!! :)

I think that Firefox & Adobe are clashing since both have updated lately. Firefox seemed more stable before the "rush" update versions that they do now. Thanks for the quick reply Tzuk. I'm running Windows Vista x64 service pack 2 & there is no sound on youtube. It's also hard to get the video's to load on youtube but when they do there is no sound. I first noticed this about a week ago. I have both sound & video on youtube while not viewing in Sandboxie. My PC is up to date & I run firefox. I run the latest version of Sandboxie also. No sound if viewing youtube on IE if running Sandboxie. Help us Tzuk. Thanks. :(

Whenever you do an uninstall/reinstall it's always best to restart the computer. It might not have been mentioned in the thread but I think it is understood. It was also specifically mentioned in the uninstall instructions on the Adobe website.

Well, I finally broke down and tired the fix suggested by Brummelchen, i.e., uninstall and reinstall. I found a few extra minutes and, even though the problem had disappeared with flash protected mode turned off, I thought I should investigate. So, I used the uninstaller from Adobe's website and manually removed the suggested folders, re-started, and reinstalled. I should mention I also turned off advanced protection in Comodo and my anti-virus before I uninstalled/reinstalled. The newer Flash with protected mode now works in sandboxed FF13! I should also note that the problem I had with a few websites not immediately displaying flash content until hit with the mouse has also been fixed. Although my machine is less than 2 years old, I update flash whenever necessary. For whatever reason, old code hanging around from the various versions of Flash seems to have been the problem.

in my case like i wrote its happen ONLY inside SB (firefox) outside all run [u:2aac6ec998]normal[/u:2aac6ec998] :) EDIT @ Brummelchen your solution doesn't work , same laggy playing under SB EDIT 2 since this issue ONLY happen under sb in firefox , its a firefox or/and SB matter , under chrome this problem doesn't exist :)

my firefox 13 hangs completely when there is some flash content on a page. the new flash player doesn't have permission to run. This never happended with the older flash versions.

Sounds similar to the printing problem when Acrobat Reader is sandboxed where I have had to turn off protected mode.

It worked fine until I installed the new version of flash and then I got the error message re plugin container. Now that I have disabled flash protected mode, problem is solved. BTW, I use the free version of Avast! and Comodo firewall and the link you posted in your last post is dead.

It's also possible to store a modified copy of the file "mms.cfg" someplace on your hard drive - a copy that includes the "ProtectedMode=0" setting - and then use Sandboxie's AutoExec command to copy that file into the sandbox as soon as the sandbox is first used. When sandboxed Firefox runs, and Flash uses the settings in the modified file, Protected Mode will be turned off. Sandboxie will be your protection. When unsandboxed Firefox runs, Protected Mode will still be in effect because the unmodified "mms.cfg" file will be used. For me, copying the file into the sandbox seems to add about 1 more second, before the sandboxed Firefox window opens.

I finally disabled Flash Protected Mode as suggested in several posts here and, so far at least, I have not encountered the problem of the plugin container stopping. W7, FF 13, 32bit. I assume this will all get sorted out in the wash in the next several days or weeks.

Curiously, I don't recall being asked if it wanted access but perhaps it did notify me and I ignored it. I am going to see how that works, without having to disable protected mode in Flash. I've had a few other issues since upgrading the Flash plugin. Hopefully now that it has internet access things will work OK

This has been reported on Bugzilla@Mozilla � Bug 747683 so it seems not Sandboxie related MrX1980 2012-04-21 15:59:09 PDT If Flash Player 11.3.x plugin was loaded (website with Flash content) in Firefox (11.0 - 14.0a1) and I close Firefox I'm getting "Crash Report [@ LdrShutdownProcess ]". It seems that because of the new Flash Player function "Protected Mode for Firefox" Firefox cannot terminate the Flash Player plugin right. https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/4d2d5179-b494-4302-8916-b699d2120421 Is it more a Firefox/Core or Flash Player problem?

I'm going to wait a while before I disable Protected Mode. I ran across a site that said to uninstall Flash before you install this new version, and it does seem to be working better for me after I did that. firefox and flash 11.3 have some issues - 11.3 in 32bit offers now a sandbox that may cause the conflict. myself has trouble also outside (win7/32). i changed to the debugger version and it works so far. http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

hi simple , under SB environment some flash site play slowly and cpu is sky high , with none SB is present all run smooth... and yes i know this flash is just release but i may alert tzuk :) tested it on firefox 14 beta 6 .... in google chrome its runs normal in this case . (btw tested on news22 in http://www.mako.co.il ) edit I think the problem is when flash plug in run TWICE in task manager instead of 1 ..
