Sandboxie Forum - SBIE 1304 (12911) http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=12911 en-us 90 Thu Sep 13, 2012 8:27 am Thu Sep 13, 2012 8:27 am sp00n: http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=83757#83757 Thu Sep 13, 2012 8:27 am http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=83757#83757 I'm having a similar problem with Memory Fox within a Sandboxie. However, instead of receiving an SBx error message from Sandboxie, I'm receiving a "Memory Release Failed" error popup from the afom.exe process, which is tied to the Memory Fox addon. This only happens when using a sandboxed browser, if I start Firefox without Sandboxie the addon is working just fine. Do I maybe have to add an exception for this executable to Sandboxie, so that it can do what it is supposed to do? How would I achieve said exception, as I haven't found an entry that immediately looked like "enter program here that will be allowed to do x"? I'm using Sandboxie 3.74 on Windows7 x32. Thank you for your help. peterw: http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=79997#79997 Tue May 08, 2012 10:00 am http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=79997#79997 this sounds interesting ..... http://www.ghacks.net/2012/05/08/breakthrough-mozilla-to-resolve-add-on-memory-leaks/ Buster: Re: SBIE 1304 http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=79994#79994 Mon May 07, 2012 9:11 pm http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=79994#79994 ]]>Quoting jw72253: ]]>If I click on Sandboxie's Hide button when I get this message, will the message stop popping up? ]]> Yes, it will stop. ]]>Quoting jw72253: ]]>Is there a way to see what messages I have elected to block like this ]]> Open Sandboxie Control, go to "Configure" and then "Edit Configuration". I use Sandboxie 3.68 on a Windows XP Pro OS, and it seems to work quite well. I have no complaints whatsoever. My primary use of it is for running web browsers, and in my case that is primarily Firefox 12. I recently began to examine more carefully the memory usage of Firefox, which seems to have nearly no bounds in its appetite, and to take steps to see about curtailing it to some degree. To that end I installed a couple of add-ons to help monitor and control FF's memory consumption. One of them has the effect of putting the summary results of "about:memory" on FF status bar for me to watch. The other one is actively cutting back on consumption, and it appears to be doing so aggressively and successfully from what I can see. It is called memory-fox and is available here: http://www.browsermemory.com/about/contact-us/. However, the memory-fox addon creates a warning from Sandboxie occassionally like this: SBIE1304 Blocked simulated keyboard or mouse input by process 'afom.exe'. I have not seen this warning from any other program or addon as I can recall. Apparently, whenever any new program is started, this same message pops up as the extension's program afom.exe attempts to interact with it in some way, which I am not going to pretend to understand fully. In any case, my firewall program is also giving me defensive-related alerts from this extension as well. If I click on Sandboxie's Hide button when I get this message, will the message stop popping up? Is there a way to see what messages I have elected to block like this, and is there a way to have Sandboxie resume all alerts by removing the restriction I would place on the warning by using the Hide button? Thanks.
