VJ: Thanks for fixing this NVIDIA issue

When I upgraded my video card to an NVIDIA with nview installed, I started experiencing the same issue mentioned above: the computer would choke for a few seconds upon opening a new windows. Thank you for addressing this NVIDIA issue - I'm going to download the beta tonight and install it. -Victor PS: Thanks for the great product by the way. Since I discovered Sandboxie 2 years ago, it has become the only security program that I have shown any loyalty to. I can't imagine living without it.

Generally, Sandboxie makes program in the sandbox "ignore" or not be able to communicate with programs outside the sandbox. This is an important aspect of sandbox isolation but sometimes it creates incompatibilities with programs outside the sandbox that expect the program in the sandbox to communicate back with them. Adding resources like this fixes the incompatibility. As I said Sandboxie does recognize some nVidia resources, I will extend the set of resources to include these new ones. Expect later versions to recognize nVidia nView and offer to apply compatibility settings for it.

Hello again tzuk: well you have hit the nail right on the head and solved another problem. As soon as I paste that text, the problem was resolved. For my future information/ knowledge, can you tell me what that pasted info does? Does it tell Sandboxie to ignore any events from the nView program? Thank you and take care. Charles, aka DrOrdi.

Thanks. I would actually like to start with nVidia resources because I see Sandboxie only recognizes about half of them. Please open Sandbox Settings > Resource Access > IPC Access > Direct Access, click Add and paste: *\BaseNamedObjects*\nView * Event Then click OK and check if that makes any difference. If it doesn't, I would like to see a new monitor log.

Hello tzuk, I was able to contact my client and run the Resource Access Monitor for both Ffox and IE while he surfed on one page, during which the problem arose as expected. I then de-activated Sandboxie for the client, hopefully only temporarily, to let him work without this annoyance. Please see info posted below: snipped. --tzuk

I've never heard of this problem before so I'm not sure what could be causing it. It could be the mouse driver software but it's not necessarily it. Can you show a Resource Access Monitor log for his system? Basically open the monitor, then start Firefox under Sandboxie and let the monitor record stuff for a brief period of time. Hello, I have a customer that uses Sandboxie that I am trying to help. Whenever he opens IE or FFox, he loses control of his mouse for 3-5 secs at each webpage. Understandbly this is quite annoying. When he runs browsers outside the Sandbox there is no problem. He uses Windows 7 - 64 bit. His Sandbox is configured to delete itself at every browser close. He is using the latest version of Sandboxie. He is a registered user. I am not sure which brand of mouse he is using, likely Logitech. Thanks in advance for your help. Charles, aka Dr Ordi PC Dr.
