Sandboxie Forum - Problem installing Chromium build (10007) http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=10007 en-us 90 Mon Mar 07, 2011 11:46 pm Mon Mar 07, 2011 11:46 pm tzuk: http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=65175#65175 Mon Mar 07, 2011 11:46 pm http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=65175#65175 Well, I'm not sure how to explain this, because I had this problem also outside the supervision of Sandboxie. But if it works now . . . Great! :) Thanks for the update. monami: http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=65172#65172 Mon Mar 07, 2011 10:41 pm http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=65172#65172 I can confirm version 3.53.06 fixes the problem at least for me..Thanks Tzuk! :D monami monami: http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=64814#64814 Sun Feb 27, 2011 2:58 pm http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=64814#64814 Thanks Tzuk for looking into this issue! :) I was not implying that there was an issue with Sandboxie per se...in my OP I stated installing and using version 75853 works perfectly in Sandboxie, however, version 75854 does not. I also said in my conclusion that something changed in build 75854 that prevented it from being installed into Sandboxie! I just thought a setting/parameter/rule or something to that effect might be required to compensate for the changes Google made to Chromium! As for installing it outside the sandbox I have not tried it and I really do not want to do it...one of my main reasons for purchasing Sandboxie was so that I could install applications in a sandbox and thus preventing permanent changes to my computer! So with that being said I will leave it at that...I am sure this issue will come up again once the main stream Chrome browser (currently @ ver.9) catches up to the Chromium development builds (currently @ ver. 11) and the issue affects more people! It was fun watching the development and using the latest and greatest from Google...hopefully in the future I will again! :) Thanks again for looking into this issue! :) monami tzuk: http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=64806#64806 Sun Feb 27, 2011 1:11 pm http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=64806#64806 I tried installing build 75854 into Sandboxie on 64-bit Windows 7 (no SP1 yet) and the install went ok. Then I tried running the chrome.exe that was installed in the sandbox and it crashed. "Chromium has stopped working. Windows can check online for a solution ..." Then I tried the same set of actions outside the sandbox and I got the same results including the crash. So I think this isn't a problem with Sandboxie but rather with recent builds of Chrome. Have you checked how it behaves for you when you install it outside the sandbox? monami: http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=64796#64796 Sun Feb 27, 2011 12:42 am http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=64796#64796 Ok, I look forward to what you find out...and hopefully a solution! :) tzuk: http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=64771#64771 Sat Feb 26, 2011 9:36 pm http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=64771#64771 Thanks, I will look into this and post an update. monami: Problem installing Chromium build http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=64738#64738 Fri Feb 25, 2011 5:42 pm http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=64738#64738 I am using paid version of Sandboxie (Version 3.53.04 Beta) on a Windows 7 64bit OS SP1 installed. I also have NIS 2011 installed! Here is a strange one for you guys I have been installing (in Sandboxie) and using Chromium builds for a long time now, so I am quite familiar on how to install and upgrade the different Chromium builds. So this is what I have run into...I can install build 75853 into Sandboxie and it works perfectly...however if I try to upgrade or install fresh into a new sandbox build 75854 it won't even start...no errors, messages, nothing! The only non default setting in the sandbox is the Drop Rights is unchecked! So I would conclude that something changed in build 75854 that is preventing it from being installed into Sandboxie! Note: I even tried installing later Chromium builds into a new sandbox...it start the install process but never finishes! I also tried using Sandboxie 3.52.0 with the same results! This is where I download the Chromium builds I use... http://build.chromium.org/f/chromium/snapshots/chromium-rel-xp/ I would appreciate if someone could confirm what I am seeing and is there a solution to the problem! TIA...monami Edit: corrected URL syntax error so now it should take you to the download site
