right, I was just wondering on workarounds you suggested to people in my troubles with that version ...
I tryied to search for past questions with any luck.
there's no more emulation of WinSxS in versions newer than 3.50?
no way to maintain old behaviour?
do you feel all people updates their configuration so that only a bunch of us got this problems?
anyway, I have to thank you so much for your time, I'll tell you what I'll get on my new system as soon as I'll start it!
sorry for this late answer but only now I got the new page ...
many thanks again!

that's not the kind of thing I'd like to listen ...
I'm planning to move on a netbook in the next future, but I'd like to do only minor change on this machine.
the DisableBoxedWinSxS switch you suggest me to set can be useful in this case? what is expected to do? it make sense to test it on old versions (from 350 to 360)?
there are any other workaround?
thank you so much for your effort!!! |

No, this merely confirms what I already knew: That your problem has something to do with a change related to WINSXS, which was introduced in version 3.51.
Would you consider updating your Windows XP ? |

fyi, I installed 320, 330, 340 and 350 and worked fine.
360 didn't work, so tryied version in the limit.
checked 352 and 354 but didn't work too and stopped tests.
last good revision for me is 350, is this of any help for you to understand the components in troubles?
have a nice weekend!

how can I proceed thru the versions to understand what is in trouble? |

hi Tzuk!
I did, putting the line at the end, first, and then at the beginning of the DefaultBox section, with no apparent changes.
I'm working with 363-03 version.
there's no more 30sec update of errors and a major change in resurces:

Edit your Sandboxie.ini configuration file, for example through Sandboxie Control > Configure menu > Edit Configuration.
Find the heading [DefaultBox] and paste this line somewhere below it:
DisableBoxedWinSxS=y
Let's see if this makes a difference. Make sure to save the configuration file and then use the Reload Configuration command from that same Configure menu. |

I got sometimes this line:
SBIE2203 Failed to communicate with Sandboxie Service: RPCSS_SXS - Start.exe [C0000034]
by the way, can free memory be an issue? I've around 200MB free on HD before starting the application.
the application claim a fail due to incorrect configuration and ask to reinstall ... (I did countless ...) |

thank you for your answer!
I don't know what fibk57.dll was, it was marked a google application but I already noted it (it was one of the reason I'm looking for sandboxing ... )
also the "Remote" folder doesn't like to me!
however, finall I get rid of it from a safe mode session, run again SB and got the same messages and this new resources:
line disappeared

changed
from
Ipc \BaseNamedObjects\SBIE_DummyEvent_2008
to
Ipc \BaseNamedObjects\SBIE_DummyEvent_1280
please, note that this is a very old installation, with poor upgrade since I need a very controlled environment. the 14001 code can be of any help?
thx you so much for all your efforts ... |

Hi, I'm not sure this is the right place for my questions, but I'm at the very first run and the program doesn't start ...
this is an old machine running XP and following the tutorial I got:
SBIE2313 Could not execute SandboxieRpcSs.exe (14001)
SBIE2204 Cannot start sandboxed service RpcSs (14001)
SBIE2204 Cannot start sandboxed service RpcSs (-1)
... repeated infinitely ...
I checked configurations and are all clean, no firewall or a/v software running.
following your suggestions [tzuk] I got the Resources that are:
